Advantages and disadvantages of oil mist lubrication device

Oil mist lubrication device to compressed air as a power, the oil atomization, that is, produce a smoke like, particle size of 2μm below the dry oil mist, and then through the pipeline to the lubrication part. Before the oil mist enters the lubrication point, it is also necessary to pass a component called "condensing nozzle" to make the oil mist into large, wet oil particles, and then cast to the friction surface for lubrication. Compressed air and some tiny oil mist particles are discharged to the atmosphere through sealed gaps or special vent holes.
Oil mist lubrication is suitable for closed gear, worm gear, chain, slide, guide rail and all kinds of bearings lubrication. At present, in metallurgical enterprises, oil mist lubrication device for large, high speed, heavy duty rolling bearings is more common (such as eight-high cold rolling mill support roll bearings).
Compared with other lubrication methods, oil mist lubrication has many unique advantages:
1. Oil mist can be dispersed with compressed air to all friction parts that need lubrication. Good and uniform lubrication effect can be obtained.
a, compressed air is small specific heat, high flow rate, it is easy to take away the heat generated by friction.
B. Greatly reduce the consumption of lubricating oil.
c, relatively thin oil circulation lubrication system has simple structure; Lightweight, small footprint, low power consumption, convenient maintenance and management, easy to realize automatic control, low cost;
d. Because the oil mist has a certain pressure, it can play a good sealing role to avoid the intrusion of external impurities, moisture and other friction pairs.
2, but there are also some shortcomings in oil mist lubrication, the selection should pay attention to the following points:
A. In the discharged compressed air, there is a small amount of suspended oil particles, which pollutes the environment and is harmful to the health of operators. Therefore, it is necessary to add ventilation and fog exhaust device;
b, not suitable for motor bearings. Because the oil mist invading the motor winding will reduce the insulation performance, shorten the service life of the motor;
c, the transmission distance of oil mist should not be too long, generally within 30m is more reliable, the longest shall not exceed 80m;
d, must have a set of compressed air system.
Due to the above shortcomings of oil mist lubrication, its scope of use is limited to a certain extent. However, its unique advantages are incomparable to other lubrication methods. So in metallurgical equipment, will be more and more widely used.
